Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta le Seisiúin Eolais Fhíorúla a Sholáthar d’Ábhar Tuismitheoirí

Tá Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta (CnaG,) an eagraíocht tacaíochta don Ghaelscolaíocht, le seisiúin eolais fhíorúla a reáchtáil Déardaoin, 14ú Eanáir do thuismitheoirí a bhfuil suim acu sa Ghaelscolaíocht dá bpáistí. De dheasca laincisí Covid 19, ní thiocfadh le scoileanna oícheanta oscailte nó seisiúin eolais a reachtáil sna scoileanna féin i mbliana agus tá CnaG ag dúil go dtabharfaidh na seisiúin fhíorúla seo deis d’ábhar tuismitheoirí tuilleadh eolais a fháil ar an earnáil is mó fáis faoi láthair.

Chomh maith le cur i láthair ar na buntaistí a bhaineann leis an Ghaelscolaíocht agus an dátheangachas, beidh deis ann labhairt le cleachtóirí ón réamhscolaíocht, bhunscolaíocht agus iarbhunscolaíocht. Beidh oifigigh CnaG i láthair fosta le ceisteanna a fhreagairt ar ghnéithe eile den Ghaelscolaíocht agus eolas a thabhairt ar, mar shampla, an Ghaelscoil is cóngaraí duit.

Dúirt Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin, Príomhfheidhmeannach CnaG;

“Tá go leor tuismitheoirí ag cur muiníne sa Ghaelscolaíocht sa lá atá inniu ann, de réir mar a mhéadaíonn tuiscint ar na buntaistí a bhaineann leis an luath-tumoideachas agus an dátheangachas. Leis an oiread sin forbairtí pobail thar na blianta, tá soláthar d’ard-chaighdean anois ar fáil ag leibhéal na réamhscolaíochta, na bunscolaíochta agus na hiarbhunscolaíochta. Tá na seisiúin seo á cur ar fáil againn de dheasca na dianghlásála agus laincisí Covid-19, le tacú le scoileanna atá thíos i dtaobh na hearcaíochta dó. Cuireann muid fáilte roimh ábhar tuismitheoirí ar bith a bhfuil suim acu sa Ghaelscolaíocht dá bpáistí, freastal ar na sesiúin eolais, le fáil amach cad é atá á ofráil ag Gaelscoileanna agus an difear suntasach a dhéanann sé i saoil dhaoine óga.

Reachtálfar seisiún na réamhscolaíochta agus na bunscolaíochta ag a 5.00 i.n. agus seisiún na hiarbhunscolaíochta ag a 8.00 i.n. Mairfidh na seisiúin thart ar uair an chloig agus is féidir clárú roimh ré ach an nasc a fháil ag oifig@comhairle.org

Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta to host Virtual Information Sessions for prospective Irish-medium Parents

Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta (CnaG,) the support body for Irish-medium education, is to host two virtual information sessions for prospective Irish-medium parents on Thursday, 14th January. Due to restrictions imposed because of Covid-19, schools have not been able to provide information sessions or open nights for parents this year and CnaG hopes that the planned virtual sessions will give prospective parents the opportunity to find out more about the fastest-growing sector in education.

As well as a presentation on the benefits of Irish-medium education and bilingualism, there will be opportunities to speak to practitioners from the Irish-medium preschool, primary and post-primary phases. Officers from CnaG will also be available to answer questions on other aspects of Irish-medium education and to provide information, for example, on your nearest Irish-medium school.

Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin, CEO of Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta stated:

“More and more parents are putting their faith in Irish medium education as the understanding of the benefits of early, immersive bilingualism increases. Community-led developments over the years now mean that high quality provision is available at nursery, primary and secondary level and we have organised these virtual sessions to support schools who are restricted in terms of recruitment as a result of the lockdown and associated restrictions. We extend an invitation to any prospective parent who may be considering Irish-medium education to come along and find out more about what is on offer and the transformational effect it can have on young people’s lives.”

The sessions will be held at 5.00 pm, for those interested in Irish-medium preschool and primary education and at 8.00 pm for those interested in Irish-medium post-primary education. Each session will last for approximately 1 hour and a link to the sessions will be provided to those interested by contacting CnaG beforehand at oifig@comhairle.org
