We are delighted to welcome you to attend our Lá Spóirt on Wednesday, 17th June (alternative date in case of unsuitable weather: Friday, 19th June). Please see below some details on how the day will run for your information.
Lá Spóirt Naíscoil na mBeann- 8:45am-9:15am- Rás gasta/ Sprint, Práta agus Spúnóg/ Potato and Spoon race agus Bac chúrsa/ Obstacle Course
Lá Spóirt Ghaelscoil na mBeann- 9:15am- 11:30am
9:15am- Fáilte
9:20am- Práta agus Spúnóg/ Potato and Spoon Race- Rang 1- Rang 7
9:40am- Rás na Málaí/ Sack Race- Rang 1- Rang 7
10:10am-10:30am Sos/ Break
10:30am- Rás Fada/ Long run (graded accordingly for each class) Rang 1- Rang 7
11:00am- Ras Gasta/ Sprint Rang 1- Rang 7
11:15am- Bronnadh agus deireadh/ Presentation and finish (please note that medals will be awarded for our running races only, certificates will be presented for other events).
*Cairde na mBeann and staff members will be manning our Díolachán Ciste/ Cake Sale throughout the morning with all monies raised going towards school funds. Please donate cakes and buns where possible.
During periods when your child's class is not racing, they will be participating in small games/ activities at the side of the football pitch under direction from Oisín, our Healthy Kidz Coach and members of Gaelscoil staff. To ensure that the day is as fun-filled and enjoyable as possible for all, please remain behind the cordons for the duration of the races etc. Children will have a chance to mingle with family members during Am Sosa.
School dinners (party box) will be available as usual on the day for Gaelscoil pupils. If you intend to bring your child home from school at the end of Sports' Day, please let us know in advance, let your child's teacher know they are leaving and please DO NOT ORDER A DINNER as any extra meals will unfortunately be thrown out.
